Kimberly and Shana first met when they began yoga teacher training together at Gaia Flow Yoga. Kimberly had fallen in love with the practice of yoga, and believing in its transformational power, came to teacher training with the express desire to open the first studio near her home town. Shana, too, had fallen in love with the practice of yoga, and came to teacher training with the express desire only to learn as much about the ancient practice as possible. During teacher training, they both received the message of their teacher - to change the world, one yogi at a time. As the partnership between Kimberly & Shana grew, their desire became united. To share the gift of yoga with you. Yes you. Shana first began practicing asana (the physical practice of yoga postures) during her first semester of law school at The University of Miami School of Law. From 2002-2008, she sought out classes in every gym she joined, in each town her career took her to. On January 1, 2009, she found Gaia Flow Yoga, where she first received the gift of the eight limbed path of yoga, and all that yoga truly has to offer. Since that time, she has devoted herself to both study, as well as physical and spiritual practice. For more about Shana, please feel free to check out her blog at: www.getyogafied.blogspot.com and read the Neighbor's Go article for the Dallas Morning News that she was featured in at http://neighborsgo.com/stories/45449. Some of Kimberly's primary interests include her faith, family, yoga, dogs, other animals and working out. Kimberly's yogic journey began somewhat unexpectedly, also in January of 2009, when this self-proclaimed "gym rat" found herself stiff and tight all over from years of hitting the weights and what-not daily at the gym. Her trainer suggested "stretching exercises", and Kimberly believed yoga would be a good fit for that. After some time spent in yoga classes at her gym, Kimberly began her regular yoga practice, with three other women, in the home of Denise Stone, in Gainesville, Texas. It was under Denise's tutelage that Kimberly realized the overarching benefit she received from yoga, above and beyond the stretching, was the profound effect it had on her mentally, spiritually and emotionally. This was the moment she realized her desire to share the gift of yoga with her community. One year later, Get Yogafied was born. It is our honor and pleasure to have the opportunity to provide a beautiful place and heartfelt instruction with which you may begin or continue your own journey. Peace and love, Kimberly & Shana ![]() |
